Founder Q&A

Q · What inspired you to start this business?

What inspired me to start this business was a combination of education, life experience, and seeing how many small business owners struggle with challenges they don't always have time to step back and analyze. After earning my business degree, working in different industries, serving in the military, and spending years observing how organizations succeed or fail, I realized that many business owners don't need someone to tell them what to do—they need an outside perspective. WUNBC was built on the idea of helping business owners identify blind spots, uncover opportunities, and make better decisions through practical business assessments and strategic thinking. My goal is to help businesses grow stronger, more efficient, and more competitive while staying true to the vision that made them start in the first place.

Q · Why Maine?

Because it's a place I genuinely care about. I'm originally from Massachusetts, but I've come to appreciate the opportunity Maine offers not just professionally, but personally as well. It's a beautiful state filled with hardworking, independent people and unique local businesses. After earning my business education, I wanted to apply what I've learned in a way that helps real people and real communities grow. Maine has a special character that's hard to find elsewhere, and the people here are truly one of a kind. Being able to build a career while supporting local businesses in a place I enjoy spending time in makes it a natural fit for me.

Q · What makes your business unique?

At its core, I simply care. As an Infantry combat veteran, I never initially thought my military experience would translate into the business world. Over time, I realized that one of my greatest strengths is attention to detail observing what others might overlook, identifying potential problems before they become major issues, and staying focused on the mission. That same mindset is what I bring to every business assessment. I take the time to understand the business, its challenges, and its opportunities. I'm not interested in selling generic solutions or complicated theories. My goal is to listen, pay attention, and provide honest feedback that helps business owners make informed decisions. Every business has a story, and I believe every owner deserves someone who genuinely cares about helping them succeed.

Q · What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge has been getting noticed. Like many new businesses, building visibility and trust takes time. The good news is that I believe in the value I bring and the skills I've developed through education, experience, and attention to detail. I understand that relationships and reputation are earned, not given. While growing awareness of my business is still a challenge, I'm confident that as more business owners see the results of my work, I'll have the opportunity to help many businesses for years to come. Every conversation, assessment, and connection is a step toward building something meaningful and lasting.

Q · What are you working on next?

Right now, I'm focused on refining the different service tiers and levels of support I can offer clients, so businesses of all sizes can get the guidance they need. I'm also constantly studying, revisiting business frameworks, and looking at ways to better align strategy, operations, and long-term goals. Business is always evolving, and I believe a good consultant should always be learning. My goal is to continue improving my assessment process and toolbox so I can provide practical insights that help business owners make better decisions and build stronger organizations.
