Founder Q&A
After years inside enterprise IT and security teams, I kept seeing the same gap: organizations were paying for big-firm consulting and getting big-firm overhead, slide decks, and hedged answers. I started Nubivance to deliver the opposite - direct, credentialed expertise that actually solves the problem in front of you. The goal was a firm that small and mid-sized organizations could afford and trust, without the runaround.
Maine is home, and it's where I want to build. There's a strong, growing community of small businesses and public-sector organizations here that need serious IT and security help but don't have a Boston or New York budget. I'd rather invest my expertise close to home and help raise the floor for the businesses around me than chase work somewhere else.
Real-world consulting without the fluff. I'm a CISSP-certified consultant with a broiad multi-diciplinary background, so clients work directly with the person doing the thinking - not a junior analyst three levels down. I keep engagements practical and plain-spoken: clear recommendations, honest tradeoffs, and work that holds up. No jargon for its own sake, no padding the invoice.
Building a business is its own full-time job on top of the consulting work itself - payroll, banking, vendor relationships, all of it. Doing it deliberately, the right way from day one, takes patience. The challenge has been resisting shortcuts and laying a foundation that will still hold up as the firm grows.
Expanding Nubivance's capacity to take on more clients across Maine and New England, deepening the security and cloud advisory side of the practice, and building partnerships that let me bring even more to the table for the organizations I work with.

Share my favorite quiet place - no thank you! :-)
That we exist to make things sound more complicated than they are. Plenty of consultants do - it justifies the bill. I work the other way. My job is to take something tangled and make it make sense, then hand you a clear plan you can actually act on. If you walk away from a conversation with me more confused than when you started, I haven't done my job. Clarity is the product.
