Founder Q&A

Q · What inspired you to start this business?

I couldn’t find cute Maine baby gifts that didn’t have that “touristy” feeling. Using my background in crafting and teaching small children, I decided to start Little Mainer.

Q · Why Maine?

Maine is where I was born and grew up. Tromping through the woods, wading in the ocean, hiking our beautiful trails, and yes….enjoying each season and what it brings. We have a beautiful state full of kind people. We need to show our pride, starting with the tiniest Mainer.

Q · What makes your business unique?

I’m not selling Tourist Maine. Little Mainer offers boutique-quality baby and toddler apparel designed in Maine for families who live here, love it here, and want to share that pride with the next generation.

Q · What has been your biggest challenge?

I think my biggest challenge is getting enough of the right people to discover Little Mainer.

Q · What are you working on next?

A new Little Mainer adventure is on the horizon! We’ve been working on something special behind the scenes—our very first board book for little readers. Filled with Maine charm and designed to be treasured for years to come, we can’t wait to share more details with you soon. Keep an eye out for sneak peeks as we get closer to launch! 🍁📖❤️

Q · Which of your products/services is your favorite?

I love the easy rompers, cozy sweatshirts, and the classic bucket hats.

Q · Favorite spot in Maine?

My favorite place in Maine is Schoodic Lake.

Q · Hidden talent or hobby?

I love to hang out and play board games with my kids.

Q · Do you tackle everything by yourself or have you hired help?

I am a “one woman show.” After bumbling up Quickbooks pretty badly, I did hire an accountant.
