Founder Q&A

Q · What inspired you to start this business?

Like so many working moms, I found myself craving something that was just for me. I love my full-time career, but after spending all day behind a desk, I wanted a creative outlet—something that let me work with my hands, connect with people, and create something that brought joy. That spark came from being a mom. I wanted to make birthdays, holidays, and little everyday moments feel special for my own kids. I started experimenting with chocolate-dipped treats, creating fun designs and themed desserts that made their faces light up. Before long, I realized I loved the entire process—from dreaming up new ideas to seeing the finished product come to life. What started as a hobby quickly became something more. Friends and family began asking me to make treats for their celebrations, and I discovered how much I enjoyed being a small part of people’s happiest moments. Whether it’s a birthday, baby shower, graduation, wedding, or “just because,” there’s something incredibly rewarding about creating desserts that bring smiles to a celebration. Starting this business has given me exactly what I was looking for: a creative escape after work, the opportunity to connect with wonderful customers, and a chance to build something of my own while still putting my family first. Every order is handcrafted with care, and I hope each box reflects the same excitement and attention to detail that inspired me to make treats for my own children in the first place.

Q · Why Maine?

Maine isn’t just where I live—it’s where I grew up, where I’m raising my family, and where I chose to build my business. Being able to serve the same communities that shaped me makes this business even more meaningful. I’m thankful to be part of a state that values local businesses and supports the people behind them.

Q · What makes your business unique?

Every order I make is handcrafted and customized with care. I love bringing a customer’s vision to life, whether it’s matching a party theme, creating something unique, or adding special details that make an event memorable. As a small business owner, I work directly with my customers from start to finish, so every order gets the personal attention it deserves. Because this business grew out of my love for celebrating special moments with my own family, I treat every order as if I were making it for my own table. My goal isn’t just to create delicious chocolate-dipped treats, it’s to help make birthdays, holidays, showers, and celebrations feel a little more special.

Q · What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge has definitely been getting my name out there. Making the treats is the fun part—figuring out advertising and social media is a whole different story! As a new business, it takes time to build an audience and let people know you exist. I’m still learning what works, but I’m trusting the process and love seeing more people discover my business through word of mouth and social media.

Q · What are you working on next?

Right now, I’m working on expanding my menu and adding more fun options for customers. I’m experimenting with new specialty flavors for cakesicles, as well as introducing new cakesicle shapes and designs to make them even more unique.

Q · Which of your products/services is your favorite?

Definitely my dipped Oreos, but I love creating cakesicles

Q · Favorite spot in Maine?

The northern part of Katahdin, there’s something so special about being truly in the woods
