Founder Q&A
I always wanted baby goats, who doesn't??? To have baby goats you need adult goats and we have some great parents. With this parenting, comes the liquid gold of goat milk. This milk has given me the opportunity to realize one of my dreams in farming. I always wanted to make goat milk soap and cheese. Small-batch goat milk soap, made by hand in my home. I believe that real ingredients and real care make all the difference — and I think you will too. Every bar is crafted fresh, in small batches, so you always get a quality product.
My family is all from Maine. When I was retiring, I wanted to come home. Maine has always been where I wanted to settle down at retirement. We started looking for farms and found the perfect secluded forest setting for our farm and my Backwoods business
All of my products are handcrafted in small batches by me, with milk from our Happy Herd of moms. The ladies provide their milk, which is the liquid gold and top ingredient of my products. The vitamins and richness of the goat milk will leave your skin feeling soft and moisturized after use. No more tight dry feeling at the end of your shower.
Having the time to play with new designs for my soaps while keeping up with demands for current favorites. I'm trying to work on new designs all the time.
I'm working on a Moose design in my soaps and for 2026 a new flag design with 250 embedded. I also am working on a Purple Heart and Gold Star soap for my veteran groups up north.
My goat milk bar shampoo. I absolutely love the results and the fact that there are no more plastic containers in our shower.
